AI Search & Traffic Drop

Last Updated: October 15, 2025By

Without seeing stats, I’m guessing the traffic drop is due to AI search. Google went to “AI Mode” last spring. This means Google searches several sources and generates a concise answer, which is displayed first.

Here’s an explanation:

“It’s quite plausible that AI-driven search may account for a significant drop in website traffic.

Studies show traffic declines of 15%–70% for some sites due to AI search. Health and medical sites rely heavily on informational content (symptoms, definitions, prevention), topics that commonly surface in AI search.

But AI may not be the only cause for sudden drops. Other factors include: search engine algorithm changes, competition, aging content, or website technical issues.”

You can try to optimize your website for AI search using certain methods and content.
